Commisioned for service on May 23, 1943. As the largest and fastest Iowa Class Battleship, Big J earned 19 awards in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and conflicts in the Middle East. She was decommissioned for the fourth and final time on February 9, 1991. She would find her final moring at the waterfront in Camden, NJ on October 15, 2001 as a living museum and memorial. It costs approximatly $10,000 a day to maintain and keep the battleship afloat on the Delaware River. That's more that $3,650,000 anually.
By request and under the authority of the Battleship New Jersey and Museum, we are proud to present the newest addition to our family of distilled spirts. This 80 proof rum is a blend of our blackstrap molasses rum and natural clover honey. A portion from the sale of every bottle is donated the Home Port Alliance to assist in the ongoing maintenance of this naval artifact.
